POEM: THE DISILLUSIONMENT

You’ll be betrayed the minute you step out the door

The day will be the same as the day before

Your dream will be busted, reality sets in

You’ll live this monotony again and again

Now that you know about all of the lies

Your parents told you just to disguise

The cold hard truth that is life:

Pain, disappointment, disaster and strife

Yeah, I know the sun still shines

There’s a beautiful forest beyond the pines

But the time still comes along with the winds

Life begins, decays and then ends.
