BOOK REVIEW: MONSTER by A. LEE MARTINEZ

A. Lee Martinez’s prose may be simplistic, but his imagination is abundant. Monster is creative, fun and all-around uplifting entertainment. The characters and the mythology are very engaging and, most importantly, it never got boring and never seemed forced.

The author is unafraid to let his quirkiness show through. Martinez set out to tell a story he wanted to tell and didn’t write it worrying about what the masses would think and I respect that. I’d like to see a movie or HBO series made from this novel. I recommend this book for anyone with a sense of adventure and a sense of humor.

4.5 out of 5 stars.
